You've seen these pictures being tossed around social media + you love them!! But, how could you not!? There is something so real and raw about in-home sessions. These sessions are simply + easy. The men in your life will love these! Because I never request any awkward poses, or rarely even ask him to look at the camera! So they automatically feel 100% more comfortable. And by doing that these images turn out perfect EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Below I am answering all the questions you might have so that you can book one of these sessions.
What are Lifestyle Sessions!? ::
Lifestyle sessions can be done with your new baby, your spouse, boyfriend, just your kids, anything! Whatever your home life consists of... that is what your lifestyle is! We can cuddle in bed or on the couch, soak up the sunlight next to the windows, do the dishes, anything!
What to Wear:::
I suggest wearing loose fitting clothes. Anything that you would wear on a Sunday morning. Thats what I want you in. No patterns. And limited layers. Something like a baggy oversized sweater, leggings and him in a basic T shirt and joggers. Don't over think it! This is supposed to be casual. Don't stress all the make-up, outfits, curling your hair. Come natural. I promise you will love the pictures that much more!
Usually these are taken in your own space. But sometimes you might not love your place. No matter where we take the pictures these tips will help you either determine a location or how to make your place fit for a perfect session.
-Take down all pictures on the walls. We want everything as simple and basic as they can get! So that the focus is on YOU! If you are using someone else's place make sure we don't have their family on the wall ;)
- Play with lighting. I love alllll the windows! So make sure to keep all the curtains + blinds open. If you look in some of the pictures you will notice christmas or globe lights. This adds a fun dimension to the pictures!
-I love white bedding. Something simple that draws the eye right to you!
-Some ideas for locations : a Cabin in the woods, go look on Airbnb.com for a fun place, your home, someones home that you love, renting a studio, etc. Anything can work!
Just remember the point of these sessions is to have fun + capture the realness of your relationship. Be relaxed + enjoy!

Jaelyn is the sweetest little mom that there ever was. I have been so blessed + lucky to photograph not only these sweet lifestyle newborns, but also their engagements + wedding day pictures. And I can't wait to watch their sweet little family grow.
Milo was so good for our session. He just sat and loved the entire time I was there. I loved getting to see the way that Tanner + Jae interacting with each other as well as how much they love baby Milo.
I love the way that lifestyle sessions let you get a glimpse into everyday life.
A few days ago, I had an awesome opportunity that let me work with DressCollective. The owner contacted me, and asked if i'd be willing to photograph a session with these darling dresses, and how could I say no. We went down to one of my favorite locations in downtown Salt Lake, and it'd be an understatement to say we had a blast. Seeing these beautiful girls laugh, and dance around in these MAGICAL dresses; was a dream. I hope you enjoy these pictures just as much as I enjoyed photographing them.
Also, if you have a business, or know of someone who needs their products professionally photographed, send them my way. I'd love to help. XO
This darling couple was my very first wedding I ever photographed. I have always felt so lucky to have them as clients and the fact that they have stuck with me all through the years means so much to me! I have been so blessed with all of my clients that trust me and keep coming back. I value the friendships I have made in this business so much.
Back in the Summer I had the opportunity to shoot an adoption film for them to use for their adoption profile. Soon after that they were placed with a beautiful birth mother and all their dreams were coming true. Just a few months later Miss Haven was born. It was a beautiful moment for this darling couple to welcome this fresh from heaven babe. I am so happy for them and their beautiful new addition.
Fresh 48 sessions are a great option to capture those fresh newborn details and moments at the hospital! If you would like to book your own Fresh 48 get ahold of me and we will set you up a session just for you!
There is nothing like capturing the newness of a tiny babe. When Libbee asked if I would capture sweet Coco's newborns at their home I was so excited. I love lifestyle sessions! We also did some maternity pictures of her here and they turned out so dreamy! So I loved sticking with the lifestyle theme by doing Coco's newborns at home as well.
I love that by doing a lifestyle session you get to truly capture your relationship between you + your sweet new babe. I love all the little details that are focused on the baby. The pictures we get are so perfect + you really get to feel the love these parents have for their new addition.
If you are interested in booking a lifestyle session send me over a quick message! Even if you don't feel like your own house is picture perfect, there are LOADS of darling studios in Logan, Ogden, and Bountiful that are all picture perfect if this is the type of pictures you want.
This darling family of 3 came to me for their family pictures + I am in love with their session! We caught the most perfect golden hour + it made for the most gorgeous family pictures! Romeo has a smile that lights up the entire room and was so good the entire time! With daylight savings here we run out of daylight a lot earlier than in the Summer months. But, I am so glad that the sun cooperated for us and gave us these amazing pictures!
I am obsessed with all of the families that I have gotten to work with this year! I can't believe we are at the close of the year. I have had the chance to work with so many amazing families. If you are wanting to get in before the end of the year let me know and we will get you scheduled!
Its that sometimes dreaded time of the year for parents...family pictures. For some, family pictures are ranked in their top 3 worst things ever! Its stressful to know what to dress all your kids in, what to put you in, and how to make it all work together! But let us help you! Family pictures don't have to be stressful. If you are stressed over it, this attitude will rub off on your kids + husband and the mood will take a nose dive.
1. Let your outfits "coordinate" but not "match".
What does that even mean? Well gone are the days where everyone comes in the exact same 2 colors. Or everyone wears khaki pants. Let your outfits express a little bit of personality in each one. I always suggest have a bold pattern somewhere in the mix as well as having a couple pops of subtle color. I also suggest having a color "scheme" instead of definite colors that HAVE to work. If you tell yourself you are doing "Neutrals" then it will be easy to pick out a couple different colors and outfits for each of you! Creme, white, gray, blush pink, gold, khaki, denim, etc. That is MUCH easier than saying everyone HAS to be in a specific shade of blue.
2. Picking the best clothing options for each member
I always suggest that mom come in a nice flowy dress. Not only is it SUPER flattering but it is comfortable + easy to wear while wrestling young children. I also like when moms dress is either a strong neutral to tie everything together, or that she is the one is the pattern.
Dad is easy! A good pair of jeans or khakis is always the go to. I also like sweaters, suit jackets, or a button up shirt. Try to stay away from t-shirts for anyone. They are a little "too" casual and often show our "not so favorite" features.
Little sister/brother is also a good option for a pattern. I love little boys in a plaid button up or sweater, and little sister is fun to have in stripes, bright bows, cheetah, etc. Because they are smaller, if they wear a bold pattern it doesn't distract from the pictures. So don't be afraid to put them in something fun to tie things together!
Big sister/brother are great as the "tie it together" child. Put them in a good neutral. Either a nice button up, creme dress, etc.
3. Other tips + tricks
-To ensure happy kids, try not to let them fall asleep in the car while you get to the session. Waking up a sleeping babe never goes over well. They always end up more tired, and typically cry for most the session.
- ARRIVE ON TIME! I suggest coming 15 min EARLY to make sure your kids can get their wiggles out, clean their noses, dress the baby, and make sure your lipstick is good. The later you are for your session this will in return cut into your session + might hamper the amount of time and images I can get.
- Make a bargain with your kids (and your husband! ;). Kids will be much more cooperative if they know that they get ice cream or a new train if they are good for pictures.
- Bring snacks for your little one. BUT make sure that it is NOT anything that will turn their teeth, tongue, make a mess, etc. My favorite treat to hand is pretzels or cheerios. Both of these can be handed fast and don't make much mess. Gold fish, suckers, chocolate chips, etc. are all mess makers or get stuck in their teeth.
- KEEP CALM! Your kids will feed off your energy. If you act happy, candid, and move nice and slow and fun. Your kids will be able to sense that and in return give us those perfect smiles! If you are yelling at them to look at the camera or to "smile!" they get frustrated and over stimulated VERY quickly. Let me do the hard part of getting them to look at me. Most the time its the parent's that I have to photoshop to looking at the camera because they are too busy watching their kids. Just let them be! Im pretty good at making obnoxious noises ;)
- I am VERY prompt. I typically don't take more than an hour for a full session. And if everything runs super smooth we could be done in 45 min. I am fast, and get what I need in the quickest amount of time so that kids attention can stay on me.
- Enjoy the moment! Take time to look at what you have created + how cute those kids are! Family pictures are something you will look back on for years and years to come.
There is nothing sweeter than little 8 year olds getting ready to be baptized. They are excited + show so much faith. Katie could not stop smiling during her entire session. I love baptism pictures (and might I add birthday pictures in general) because we get to focus on THEM. Just one. Its us + them. No other siblings trying to take away the last cosmic brownie. Noone around to turn the channel, or to steal mom + dads attention.
I think doing these pictures for your children is one of THEE best things you can do! Go take them out for a little treat after + spoil them! They are just a quick little mini session, but their mini souls sure benefit from them. And as you walk away holding hands from your session to get in the car...my heart is full.
Contact me today to set up a birthday session for your kid/s. I would love to share in your fun day with them!
I could not be more happier for this couple of mine. Every time we get together for pictures we always luck out + have the most dreamy light! I loved getting to take these formal pictures for them before their big day. The Salt Lake Temple is breathtaking this time of year, and a lot less crowded than that of Summer months.
I am a HUGE advocate for doing your formal pictures before hand. For instance, tomorrow is their wedding day and the weather is showing lots and lots of....rain. Instead of being stressed + upset that they aren't going to get any good pictures of them all dressed up, they can rest easy knowing that these intimate + timeless pictures were done weeks before. They've had time to print them out, to adjust anything in their wardrobe they need, and to be able to relax when their big day is here!
We will of course always make time for MORE pictures on your wedding day. But you can sit back nice and relaxed knowing that we were able to take our time + get pictures before the rain snuck up on us!
Tiff + Cam; Where do I even begin to express all my love for these two amazing people. I am so truly BLESSED to call them my best friends. From them being best friends with me + Garrett since intermediate school, to dating as long as me + Garrett have + always being ready to travel the world. The adventures we have experienced, (good + bad) I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. We grow into the people we want to become- together. To say there is never a dull moment with them would be a complete understatement. The party NEVER ends, maybe that's why I love them so much. ;) I couldn't imagine a life without them. Garrett + I for sure lucked out in the best friend department, and they just celebrated their two year anniversary. Congrats on all the love. XO

McKayla is one of my All-Season Seniors, and I couldn't be more excited about it. I was also thrilled when she wanted to include her horse in her session, because I'm all about doing and incorporating things about you in pictures. Also, is was fun for me to shoot with a horse for the first time. This girl stole my heart, because I mean, can she be anymore PERFECT? She makes my job so easy + fun, so no complaints over here. Can fall please come sooner so I can see her again!!!
P.S. Trying new things is my favorite, so contact me and we can set up a session the screams YOU. And, it's not to late to sign up to be an All-Season Senior. Contact me, and we can discuss all your questions.
